I’m off this afternoon.  I am leaving today because I’m an Exhibitor and I have to set up my booth tomorrow.  Most exhibitors have already been in High Point for a while, getting their showrooms ready, fussing and dressing.  THE BATH COLLECTION, my line of extra long ready made shower curtains, only takes about 2 hours for set-up and display.  I’ll be at the loading dock by 8 a.m. tomorrow morning and should have the booth complete by lunch.

The International Home Furnishings Market officially opens at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.  However, many of the showrooms will be open on Friday and several are having welcome parties on Friday evening.  The market is spread throughout the city of High Point.  My booth will be in one of my favorite buildings, Suites At Market Square, which is attached to the Historic Market Square building, an old factory with wonderful architecture.  This time, we’ll be on the Mezzanine level, Booth 4027.

While I’m excited about going and being an Exhibitor again, I know that Market is a lot of hard work.  As a designer, it’s truly, truly difficult for me to be “stuck” in my own booth when I want so badly to go to all the showrooms and buildings and see what’s new, touch and feel.  It’s important to know and see so that when I’m recommending furnishings to my clients, I have first-hand knowledge.

I’ve been attending High Point since the year 2000 off and on as a Designer and I’ve always travelled with fellow designers who are my dear friends.  Because we live in Atlanta, High Point is about a 5+ hour drive, so we have traditionally carpooled and roomed together, going our separate ways during the day and meeting up to have lunch and dinner after a long, grueling day.

This year, I’ll have the company of my friend and fellow designer, Regina Schuber from Dublin, GA and I have someone from High Point who will be coming to help with my booth each day.  I’m anticipating heavy traffic and lots of sales!

THE BATH COLLECTION is always well received and there are always positive comments about how much the product is needed!  I’m filling a forgotten niche in the home fashion market.  I have 5 new introductions this market and I’m looking forward to hearing the reactions!

Wish me luck and if you come, please say hello!
